Thoughts:
- A lazy man's ballot. The top 7 spots remain unchanged this week as none of those teams did anything to warrant dropping this week.
- Two mid-majors - New Mexico and Butler - keep things rolling and are the beneficiaries of Big East teams beating up on one another.
- I don't understand Wisconsin this year. They looked unimpressive in their win over Northwestern at the Kohl Center, lose to Minnesota on the road, destroy Indiana, Michigan and Michigan State, and need overtime to beat Penn State. If someone can succinctly explain to me what is up with the Badgers season, I'm all ears.
- Two ACC teams play their way into the top 16 this week. Maryland has now won 4 straight including big home victories over Clemson and Georgia Tech, while FSU has won three straight and two straight ACC road games (albeit against bad ACC teams).
Dropped Out: Michigan State (#14), Gonzaga (#15), Texas (#16)
Welcome: Maryland (#14), Florida St. (#15), Brigham Young (#16)
Maybe Next Week: Michigan State, Missouri, Baylor, Xavier
By Conference: Big East 4, Big Ten 3, ACC 3, Big 12 2, Mountain West 2, SEC 1, Horizon 1
