University of Connecticut head coaches Jim Calhoun and Paul Pasqualoni are not being shy about their desire to see UConn join Syracuse and Pittsburgh in a move from the Big East to the ACC.

Big East commissioner John Marinatto told Pete Thamel of the New York Times that the conference will hold Pitt and Syracuse to the 27-month period before either school can leave to join the ACC. That means, unless the schools can convince the conference to change its stance, the will not be able to begin participating in the ACC until June 2014.

According to Florida State president Eric Barron, the Atlantic Coast Conference could announce the admission of Pittsburgh and Syracuse as the 13th and 14th members of the conference as early as Sunday.
