Dear Marcus Camby: We Love You, Now Please Retire

With apologies to Marcus Camby (We love you, Marcus!) it’s time to retire. So long and thanks for all the blocks. If nothing else, he should do it for the sake of the New York Knicks. It’s good...

Nix: Blazers C Marcus Camby Arrested For Marijuana

127
Kristi Nix of YourHoustonNews.com reports that Portland Trail Blazers center has been arrested for marijuana possession in Texas. -------------------- Two-time NBA all-star Marcus Camby, 37, of the Portland Trail Blazers, was arrested by Pearland police Monday and charged with marijuana possession. Police officials say officers pulled over Camby’s black Porsche around midnight on when he was spotted driving north on Cullen Boulevard with a sun screen device blocking the front window. Officers then questioned Camby and a passenger, later identified as Kendal Lance Johnson, 25. Officers say they noticed the smell of marijuana. Camby gave permission for the car to be searched and police said they discovered what appeared to be several marijuana cigarettes and a baggie with a small amount of the same substance hidden under the front seat. Both suspects denied ownership of the marijuana. -------------------- ed: bumped to front page

Blazers Frontcourt Trade Drawer

Who should Portland target? Should they bank on Oden coming back? Should they trade Camby? If so, for who? If Portland has another MLE to spend, who should they look at with that money? Personally, if we're not banking on Oden, I think Nene should be option #1, followed by Tyson Chandler, Emeka Okafor, Al Jefferson, Chris Kaman, and Samuel Dalembert. None of these guys would be home runs, but some might be triples (Chandler and Nene), some might be ground rule doubles (Okafor), and some would be a stand up single. Are there other guys out there worth looking at? Leave your thoughts and your proposals below, and be nice about it.

So we all know the outcome of last night. We also know this isn't the first time the Blazers have fallen apart like this down the stretch when leading the game. So I finally put together a jump shot vs drive/paint shot video analysis thingy. The game last night reminded me of the Grizzlies game (also at the Rose Garden) when the Blazers started to resort to jump shots. It makes me mad and decided to just make a video showing why the constant jump shots when having the lead is a horrible thing (and allows the opponent right back in the game when they do it). This game was pretty bad though, the video starts with 6 minutes left in the 4th and goes through every Blazer possession and their shot choices including attempts/made/free throws and total points. Armon's shot does not count because he is Armon (the total points Armon has at the end is pretty funny compared to the total jump shot points). Hope you enjoy it and I'll make some more of these, I might even make one from the Bucks game last night just to show the difference. Also I uploaded another Blazer Phantom video which is #2. It's not as obvious but it was the block Marcus Camby made which was clean but called a foul. In HD you can see it was clearly all ball. All in fun, it will be interesting to see the collection I get from now to the end of the season. Video located here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1U60S9YxP4 Again sorry about the poor quality, I'm working my way to getting my tuner upgraded to record everything in HD (like my previous videos from the last 2 years) and slowly gathering the funds to do so. Once I get it then everything will be crystal clear. This method works for now. More to come!

This is not a video stating the suns only won by poor officiating. Nor am I complaining about it or starting a flame war. Blazers gave the game away on their own, no questions about that and please don't manipulate what I'm saying to classify me as a 'whiny blazer fan' and try not go to into far-reaching details about this is a make up call because of so and so. I am just posting a video about something we can all relate to, that feeling when a ref really makes a mistake and that thought "What the?" goes through your head. Sometimes it's nice to just sit back and laugh at how bad some refs can be (no matter what team you cheer for), in this particular case it's of course Joey Crawford. It was a blown call, a wtf call... and kind of funny really... and sad. So please watch the video for what it is and 'enjoy'.
