Ira Schoffel offers his views on the violent collision between FSU's James Ramsey and NCST catcher Chris Schaeffer during Sundays ACC Championship game, and why NCST coach Elliot Avent might want to consider issuing a apology to Ramsey for the comments he made after the game and on Monday, even after having the opportunity to review the play.
Here is an excerpt from Ira's post on his FSU blog:
Avent’s contention was that Ramsey should have been ejected for running through and injuring his player. And when the umpires explained why that wouldn’t happen – that it was Schaeffer who "obstructed" Ramsey from reaching home plate without having the ball in his hand, and that Ramsey didn’t use unnecessary force – Avent wouldn’t take no for an answer.Click here to read the full story and Ira's thoughts.
