College hockey's last remaining independent has finally, mercifully found a home.

Boston College Hockey will be playing the RIT TIgers on the road in 2014. RIT is a perennial contender in the AHA conference.
On Tuesday, NBC Sports Network announced its college hockey broadcast schedule for the coming season. There are quite a few more games than there were last season. Eight additional games, to be exact, and 24 in total.
Starting next season, the Hockey East Tournament will expand to qualify all conference members. For the 2014 tournament, the format will expand to include all 11 programs and the following year, the tournament will expand to 12.
On Thursday, Hockey East announced that they had extended the contract of commissioner Joe Bertagna an extra year, bringing him under contract through the 2014-15 season. Bertagna will begin his 16th season as Hockey East commissioner.
It was assumed for quite some time that Syracuse and Pittsburgh would find a way to extricate themselves from the Big East a year early in order to join the ACC in time for the 2013-14 season. Now we can forecast Boston College's future schedules.
