Senior John Leonard threw 6.0 innings and allowed five runs on seven hits in the loss. The Eagles (2-4) have the week off before facing Bethune-Cookman on Friday in Daytona Beach (spring break in Daytona!)

The Eagles took a 3-3 tie midway into the seventh before the Gators scored six unanswered to win 9-3. BC (2-3) takes on the Red Sox in its annual exhibition game at 1 PM today.

The Eagles couldn't get anything going offensively, as Gators pitchers Brian Johnson (6.0 innings) and Steve Rodriguez (3.0) each allowed just 1 hit. The series continues today at 5 PM.

John Leonard tosses 5 scoreless innings as the Eagles beat the Golden Eagles 6-1. The baseball team next takes on No. 1 ranked Florida on Thursday in Gainesville.
