Meanwhile, Shinskie, who was the starter until Saturday, and Marscovetra, who relieved Rettig, both were hoping for another chance to start, especially Shinskie.

"This was a wake-up call for Dave Shinskie,’’ said Shinskie. "We need a leader on this team. We need a leader on offense. What we need is for someone to step up. I want to be that guy.’’
