Friday night, Bryan Davis gave a speech. He spoke about defending our house, the Under Armour slogan. If anyone ever tried to intrude on your house, you’d beat them with a bat. This is what NC State is trying to do. So Saturday, he had the bat, and I was like, ‘All right, I’ll run out with the bat.’ — Colin Larmond, Jr., on the significance of the bat the team carried onto the field on Saturday
Senior offensive tackle Nate Richman, who’s missed five straight games with back problems, has been cleared to play tomorrow and will back up John Wetzel on the left side. Tailbacks Andre Williams (ankle) and Tahj Kimble (concussion) will be available.
Strong safety Spenser Rositano (leg) and fullback Danny Williams (shoulder) are questionable.
Linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis (ankle) and cornerback Jimmy Noel (ankle) are out. Sean Duggan will start in Pierre-Louis’ place for the third time.
Boston College 21, Maryland 20: Yes, the Terps have home field advantage, but the Eagles have stability at their quarterback position, and the offensive line has been making gradual progress each week. Coach Frank Spaziani has kept this team in games, the Eagles are due for an ACC win, and this is the weekend they’ll get it.
10. Boston College- "So easy a caveman can do it (GEICO)": Maybe not. The Eagles lost their third straight game when they missed a 23-yard field goal with 43 seconds to go in a 20-19 loss to Duke last week.
The staff's call to run left on BC's final third down of the game doesn't excuse Freese for choking on a chip shot. He directly cost the Eagles a chance to win this game. But he shouldn't have been in the position in which he had to attempt that kick from where he did.
Freese's miss is a symptom of the problem. Spaziani's decisions are the disease. The only way to restore the hope the program has lost is to cure the disease.
" Coach Spaziani has moved freshman defensive back Manny Asprilla from defensive back to wide receiver"
"Central Florida 31, Boston College 20: UCF has a talented, athletic quarterback in Jeff Godfrey, and the Knights will cause the Eagles’ defense some problems. UCF allowed Charleston Southern to gain more than seven yards on only three of its 11 drives last week. BC’s offense took another hit when receiver Ifeanyi Momah suffered a season-ending injury."
This afternoon as BC prepared for its season opener against Northwestern on Saturday, Nathan Richman was in full pads and working at left TACKLE behind starter John Wetzel.
BC coach Frank Spaziani's logic was simple. Richman has missed most of training camp and his status remains uncertain for Saturday. By working at left tackle instead of left guard, he can get reps in without disrupting the continuity which is building with Mark Spinney at guard. If he can play, he might start at left tackle over Wetzel as Spaziani follows the "five best guys will play'' theory.
