To be a Classic, an event doesn't need to be old, or to even offer compelling matchups. Of the 70 schools involved this season in the seven Classics listed in the chart below, just seven are currently in the AP top 25. None is in the top 10. The highest-ranked among them is No. 12 Xavier, which will play in next month's Diamond Head Classic. But none of the other seven teams in that event's field is ranked.
