2009-2010 Boston College Men's Basketball: N.C. State Game Thread
Boston College Eagles (15-14, 6-9 ACC) at N.C. State Wolfpack (16-14, 4-11 ACC)
Time: 2:00 EST
Date: Sunday, Mar. 7, 2010

Series: Boston College leads the all-time series 7-2.
Last Meeting at RBC Center: N.C. State 74, Boston College 69 (Mar. 4, 2009)
Trends: BC is 1-6 on the road in the ACC this season. N.C. State has lost their regular season finale in each of the last 5 seasons. The Wolfpack is just 5-10 in their last 15 games.
N.C. State's 2008-2009 Record: 16-14 (6-10 ACC)
Probable Starters:
- G - Javier Gonzalez (Jr.) - 5'11", 175 lbs., Carolina, Puerto Rico - 10.2 PPG, 3.3 RPG

Finally, after a roller coaster season, we've reached the end of the line - BC and NC State in the regular season finale. This game is for little more than bragging rights and momentum going into the ACC Tournament, as both the Eagles and the Wolfpack are locked into the number 8 and 11 seeds, respectively.

- F/C - Jerome Meyinsse (Sr.) - 6'9", 233 lbs., Baton Rouge, La. - 5.7 PPG, 4.1 RPG
It's senior night on the Heights as we honor the career of Tyler Roche. The Eagles need a win to secure a spot in the #8 vs. #9 game the ACC Tournament. The game is a 9 PM tip over BC's Spring Break, so attendance will probably be very light. I know this season has been very frustrating (to say the least), but If you get the opportunity to attend tonight's game, please do.
Similarly, Virginia can earn the #8 seed with a win tonight on the road. For Virginia, their leading scorer and playmaker Sylven Landesberg will be a game-time decision. Landesberg was sidelined for Virginia's home game against Duke on Sunday with a bruised thigh.

2009-2010 Boston College Men's Basketball: Virginia Tech Game Thread
Virginia Tech Hokies (21-5, 8-4 ACC) at Boston College Eagles (13-13, 4-8 ACC)
Time: 7:00 EST
Date: Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010
Place: Conte Forum, Chestnut Hill, Ma.
TV: ESPNU
Opponent's Site: Gobbler Country
The Line: Boston College 0
Last Time Out: The Eagles defeated North Carolina 71-67 to move to 13-13 (4-8 ACC) on the year.
Series: BC leads the all-time series 10-7.
Last Meeting: Virginia Tech 63, Boston College 62 (Jan. 23, 2010)
Last Meeting at Conte Forum: Boston College 67, Virginia Tech 66 (Jan. 31, 2009)
Trends: While Virginia Tech is 14-0 at home this season, they are only 5-4 on the road. VT had their five game winning streak snapped on Saturday, losing to Duke 67-55. After starting out 9-2 all-time against Virginia Tech, BC has lost 5 of their last 6 games against the Hokies.
Virginia Tech's 2008-2009 Record: 19-15 (7-9 ACC), second round NIT loss
Probable Starters:
- G - Dorenzo Hudson (Jr.) - 6'5", 220 lbs., Charlotte, N.C. - 14.0 PPG, 3.6 RPG
- G - Malcolm Delaney (Jr.) - 6'3", 170 lbs., Baltimore, Md. - 20.2 PPG, 3.8 RPG

- F - Jeff Allen (Jr.) - 6'7", 230 lbs., Washington, D.C. - 11.3 PPG, 7.0 RPG
Can the Eagles keep things rolling with a second straight victory tonight against the Hokies? Will Reggie Jackson continue his strong second half? Is Virginia Tech walking into a trap game before their big Saturday showdown with Maryland? Can anyone stop Malcolm Delaney? Why is this game preview a string of seemingly endless, rhetorical questions?

2009-2010 Boston College Men's Basketball: Florida State Game Thread
Boston College Eagles (12-12, 3-7 ACC) at Florida St. Seminoles (17-7, 5-5 ACC)
Time: 7:30 EST
Date: Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010
Place: Donald L. Tucker Center (capacity 13,800), Tallahassee, Fl.
TV: FSN
Opponent's Site: Tomahawk Nation
The Line: Florida State -8.5
Last Time Out: Boston College lost, again. This time losing to Wake Forest 92-85 to drop to .500 overall, 12-12 (3-7 ACC).
Series: BC leads the all-time series 4-2.
Last Meeting: Florida State 61, Boston College 57 (Jan. 30, 2010)
Last Meeting at Tucker Center: Boston College 66, Florida State 63 (Feb. 23, 2008)
Trends: The Eagles have lost three straight and 7 of their last 9 games. BC is 1-1 all time at the Tucker Center. After starting the season 13-2, FSU has only won four of its last nine games. FSU is 5-14 against the spread.
Florida State's 2008-2009 Record: 25-10 (10-6 ACC), first round NCAA Tournament loss to Wisconsin
Probable Starters:
- G - Michael Snaer (Fr.) - 6'5", 200 lbs., Moreno Valley, Ca. - 8.6 PPG, 2.7 RPG
- G - Derwin Kitchen (Jr.) - 6'4", 198 lbs., Jacksonville, Fl. - 8.7 PPG, 4.3 RPG
- F - Ryan Reid (Sr.) - 6'8", 237 lbs., Lauderdale Lakes, Fl. - 7.0 PPG, 3.9 RPG
- F - Chris Singleton (So.) - 6'9", 227 lbs., Dunwoody, Ga. - 10.6 PPG, 7.4 RPG
- C - Solomon Alabi (So.) - 7'1", 251 lbs., Kaduna, Nigeria - 12.7 PPG, 7.0 RPG
The Eagles are back on the road - this time in Tallahassee - as they face the 17-7 Seminoles at the Donald Tucker Center. BC is coming off losses to Duke and Wake Forest, and will return home after this game to face North Carolina and Virginia Tech. If Al Skinner's squad has any hope of making the postseason, this is a crucial game for the Eagles to win.
Florida State is coming off a poor shooting night at Clemson, where they lost 77-67 to fall back to .500 in ACC play. FSU is a half game behind Clemson and in 7th place in the ACC standings. The Seminoles are scoring 70.9 points per game, while giving up 61.8. Sophomore Solomon Alabi leads the way, averaging 12.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game.

2009-2010 Boston College Men's Basketball: Wake Forest Game Thread
Boston College Eagles (12-11, 3-6 ACC) at Wake Forest Demon Deacons (16-5, 6-3 ACC)
Time: 7:00 EST
Date: Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010
Place: Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum (capacity 14,665), Winston-Salem, N.C.
TV: RSN
The Line: Boston College +6.5
Last Time Out: Boston College lost to Duke 66-63 to fall to 12-11 (3-6 ACC) on the season.
Series: Boston College leads the all-time series 7-2.
Last Meeting at Lawrence Joel: Wake Forest 93, Boston College 76 (Feb. 8, 2009)
Trends: After winning the first 7 games in the all-time series between the Eagles and the Deacons, BC dropped both games to Wake Forest last season. After dropping a 78-68 decision to William & Mary at home back on November 28, the Deacons have won 7 straight home games.
Wake Forest's 2008-2009 Record: 24-7 (11-5 ACC), first round NCAA Tournament upset loss to Cleveland
Probable Starters:
- G - C.J. Harris (Fr.) - 6'2", 175 lbs., Winston-Salem, N.C. - 11.2 PPG, 1.9 RPG
- G - Ishmael Smith (Sr.) - 6'0", 175 lbs., Concord, N.C. - 13.4 PPG, 4.7 RPG
- F - L.D. Williams (Sr.) - 6'4", 210 lbs., Yadkinville, N.C. - 8.5 PPG, 5.7 RPG
- F - Al-Farouq Aminu (So.) - 6'9", 215 lbs., Norcross, Ga. - 16.1 PPG, 11.1 RPG
- C - Chas McFarland (Sr.) - 7'0", 235 lbs., Lovington, Il. - 7.2 PPG, 7.4 RPG
The Eagles travel to Winston-Salem without their leading scorer and rebounder, Joe Trapani, who didn't travel with the team due to illness. Tonight's game is a case of two teams moving in opposite directions. While BC has been more competitive of late, the Eagles have still lost six of their last eight games. Wake, meanwhile, has won four of its last five, including their most recent 64-61 overtime victory over Virginia.
Wake Forest is led by 6'9" forward Al-Farouq Aminu, averaging 16.1 points per game and 11.1 rebounds per game. Can the Eagles keep this one close, or will the height of the Deacons front court be too much for the shorthanded Eagles to handle?

2009-2010 Boston College Men's Basketball: Duke Game Thread
Duke Blue Devils (18-4, 6-2 ACC) at Boston College Eagles (12-10, 3-5 ACC)
Time: 2:00 EST
Date: Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010
Place: Silvio O. Conte Forum, Chestnut Hill, Ma.
TV: ESPN
The Line: Boston College +8.5
Last Time Out: Boston College lost to Florida State 61-57 to fall to 12-10 (3-5 ACC) on the season.
Series: Duke leads the all-time series 11-2.
Last Meeting: Duke 79, Boston College 59 (Jan. 13, 2010)
Last Meeting at Conte Forum: Boston College 80, Duke 74 (Feb. 15, 2009)
Trends: Duke is a mere 1-4 in road games this season, while BC is 8-5 at home. BC has lost 5 of its last 7 games.
Duke's 2008-2009 Record: 28-6 (11-5 ACC), Regional Semifinal NCAA Tournament loss to Villanova
Probable Starters:
- G - Jon Scheyer (Sr.) - 6'5", 190 lbs., Northbrook, Il. - 18.8 PPG, 3.4 RPG
- G - Nolan Smith (Jr.) - 6'2", 185 lbs., Upper Marlboro, Md. - 18.0 PPG, 2.6 RPG
- F - Kyle Singler (Jr.) - 6'8", 230 lbs., Medford, Or. - 16.8 PPG, 7.1 RPG
- F - Lance Thomas (Sr.) - 6'8", 225 lbs., Scotch Plains, N.J. - 5.9 PPG, 4.9 RPG
- F - Miles Plumlee (So.) - 6'10", 240 lbs., Warsaw, In. - 6.8 PPG, 5.9 RPG
The 9th ranked Duke Blue Devils look to put a stop to their road woes as they face our Boston College Eagles today. Duke is just 1-4 in road games this season, with their one win coming at Clemson back on January 23. BC is coming off a 61-57 loss to Florida State, a game in which they went to the free throw line 4 times (a school record low).
The last time out against Duke, BC was held to 43 percent shooting from the floor, including 1 for 10 shooting from 3. Rakim Sanders was held to 3 points on 1 of 8 shooting, while Joe Trapani was held to eight points. No starter finished in double figures. Reggie Jackson (20 points, 3 rebounds) provided the only spark for BC off the bench. The Eagles are clearly playing better basketball than they were back on January 13, but will it be enough to get them past the Blue Devils?

2009-2010 Boston College Men's Basketball: Florida State Game Thread
Florida State Seminoles (15-5, 3-3 ACC) at Boston College Eagles (12-9, 3-4 ACC)
Time: 3:00 EST
Date: Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010
Place: Conte Forum, Chestnut Hill, Ma.
TV: Raycom
The Line: Boston College -1
Last Time Out: Boston College defeated Clemson 75-69 to move to 12-9 (3-4 ACC) on the season.
Series: BC leads the all-time series 4-1.
Last Meeting: Boston College 72, Florida State 67 (Feb. 24, 2009)
Trends: Florida State has never won at Conte Forum (0-3). The Seminoles are a mere 2-4 on the road this year (those two wins are against Mercer and Georgia Tech in OT).
Florida State's 2008-2009 Record: 25-10 (10-6 ACC), first round NCAA Tournament loss to Wisconsin
Probable Starters:
- G - Deividas Dulkys (So.) - 6'5", 196 lbs., Silute, Lithuania - 10.0 PPG, 2.3 RPG
- G - Derwin Kitchen (Jr.) - 6'4", 198 lbs., Jacksonville, Fl. - 8.0 PPG, 4.1 RPG
- F - Ryan Reid (Sr.) - 6'8", 237 lbs., Lauderdale Lakes, Fl. - 7.1 PPG, 4.1 RPG
- F - Chris Singleton (So.) - 6'9", 227 lbs., Dunwoody, Ga. - 11.2 PPG, 7.6 RPG
- C - Solomon Alabi (So.) - 7'1", 251 lbs., Kaduna, Nigeria - 12.7 PPG, 7.1 RPG
This is a big game for both programs with significant ACC standings implications. The Eagles can climb back into the ACC race with a win, pushing their conference record to 4-4. Likewise, Florida State can ill-afford to drop to below .500 in ACC play with upcoming games against Maryland, Clemson and UNC, among others.
