In yet another testament to the strength of the ACC, despite finishing 7th out of 8 teams in the ACC, Boston College women's lacrosse has qualified for the NCAA tournament. It's BC's fourth straight trip to the tournament; they'll host Stony Brook on Friday in Newton.
Stony Brook will be a formidable foe for the Eagles. They went 16-3 this season, including a 6-0 mark in America East play. After starting the season 2-3, they're riding a 14-game winning streak. While they have not played an ACC opponent this year, they do have 2 wins over ranked opponents, including a 17-7 win over #9 Stanford.
The winner of Friday's BC-Stony Brook matchup will travel to Syracuse on Sunday. Syracuse has knocked BC out of the ACC tournament in each of the past two seasons, and quashed the Eagles in the Elite Eight in 2014.
