Get well soon, Jerry!

Boston College hockey coach / B.M.O.C. / all-around stud Jerry York underwent successful outpatient eye surgery to repair a detached retina this morning, per a school release. The surgery was performed by Dr. Jeffrey Heier at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston.

But fret not, Eagles fans. He's at home resting comfortably.

Unfortunately, York is expected to miss both games of this weekend's home-and-home between #2/#3 Boston College and #4/#4 New Hampshire -- two huge tilts with significant Hockey East regular season title and PairWise implications. Friday's game is at Conte starting at 7 PM (televised on NESN). Saturday's game at the Whit also starts at 7 PM.

Luckily, the team is in the highly, highly capable hands of associate head coaches Mike Cavanaugh and Greg Brown for this weekend's UNH series. Maybe, just maybe the team will use York's absence as extra motivation to carry play and take this weekend's series with the Wildcats.

Or we could all share a few laughs in mid April talking about Remember the Whittemore! in pure, unadulterated Slump Time (TM) fashion when York hoists another National title trophy over his head at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh.

Let's win one for Jerry, boys! And get well soon, Coach!
