Now that BC and Georgia Tech have officially inked their matchup in Dublin, Ireland, the biggest question will be how do we get tickets. Well the Eagles have already created a website for this, entitled BC2Ireland.com. On the site, you can find all sorts of packages for you which you have to order to have the opportunity to buy tickets. Let's take a look:
Dublin Game Weekend and the Gold Package: roughly $1500-2900
Three nights' accommodations at hotel — all rooms with private bath or shower
Full Irish breakfast daily at hotel (after first overnight)
Porterage of one piece of luggage in/out of hotels
Priority seating at the Boston College vs. Georgia Tech football game in the Boston College section (view details)
Boston College Welcome Gathering on Friday at the world-famous Guinness Storehouse, exclusive to guests of the Official BC Ireland Tour
Half-Day Dublin City Tour
Gameday transportation
Commemorative souvenir and credential
Anthony Travel on-site assistance in Ireland
Some of this sounds pretty cool, especially the Welcoming Gathering at the Guinness Storehouse and the Tour. But mind you that none of this includes air fare or cost of tickets. So throw that in there as well. But still, looks like a fun weekend.
But, fine print time. How do they allocate who gets tickets or can purchase the package? Oh, it's back to Flynn Fund donors again.
Group 1 - Package Reserved by August 15, 2015
Priority A - Flynn Fund donors in descending order of donation
Priority B - Non-donors by package star rating and order date
Group 2 - Package Reserved by October 15, 2015
Priority A - Flynn Fund donors in descending order of donation
Priority B - Non-donors by package star rating and order date
Group 3 - Package Reserved after October 15, 2015, until sold out
Priority A - Flynn Fund donors in descending order of donation
Priority B - Non-donors by package star rating and order date
I talked with a rep from the travel agency running the trips and he believes that there should be no problems getting tickets to basically anyone who wants to go. Even if they are prioritizing Flynn Fund donors, it sounds like they expect there to be plenty of tickets for anyone who wants to go.
It sounds like a good time, but maybe a little pricier than I would like. Then again, you can do what I probably will do, which is not even order the tickets through the group and do it on your own. Probably could save hundreds of dollars avoiding a travel agent anyways, and not have to worry about whether I donated enough to be included. Leave your thoughts on their packages below.
Update 3:54 PM: The package purchased through Boston College will, indeed, include a ticket to the game.
