Name: Allen Dawson
Position: Defensive Back
Number: #24
Year: Freshman
Height: 6-foot-0
Weight: 187 lbs.
Hometown: Ft. Lauderdale, FL
High School: Cheshire Academy (CT)
2013 Stats: N/A
2014 Projections: Admittedly not a whole lot is known about the prep school safety. Dawson did enroll in January and has been working with the team over the spring. The Eagles' secondary took a bit of a hit over the offseason, yet still maintains some depth with dudes like Bryce Jones, C.J. Jones, Dominique Williams, Sean Sylvia and Manny Asprilla. I can see Dawson being used sparingly in pass coverage but also as a solid contributor on special teams; on the way to vying for a starting role as a sophomore.
How'd He Get Here: Dawson, originally a 2013 recruit, reclassified and spent an extra year at Cheshire Academy in Connecticut to better hone his skills. The year seemingly paid off after he received an offer from BC. Maryland, Penn State and UConn all showed various interest in the defensive back. Recruited by Don Brown and Kevin Lempa.

Preach.
Uniform History: Brighton's Fred Steinfort, who, up until Freese got drafted by the Lions this year, was the only Boston College kicker ever selected in the NFL Draft, wore the #24 jersey from 1972-75. So did a Flutie, Darren, from 1984-87. Former Boston College RB coach Jason Swepson, most recently the head coach at Elon, wore the #24 in 1990. The jersey number was most recently worn by Ryan Glasper (2003-06*) and Dan Mulrooney (2007, 09).
