A look at a 2013 BC commit quarterback James Walsh
Hometown: Baldwinsville, NY
High School: Coffman
Position: Dual Threat Quarterback
Weight: 185 lbs
Rankings: Rivals 3* (position 22), Scout 2* (position 96), ESPN 3* (rated a 72, 37 position, 78 state), 247 Sports 3* (rated a 82, position 55, state 66). Selected Boston College over Toledo, Ohio, Akron, Central Michigan.
Stats: Finished senior season with 831 rushing yards, 707 passing yards, and 13 total touchdowns.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Watching his video, James looks quick in his cuts and can get to the corner quickly. He has a solid arm, and his legs make him a definite Addazio style QB. On the other hand he releases the ball a bit slowly and gets a lot of air under his throws, something that could lead to interceptions at the college level.
Realistic Outlook: With Chase Rettig's senior season looming, Boston College has a giant question mark at quarterback looking forward. Walsh is clearly an Addazio style quarterback, and could be primed to practice and red shirt this season and step in as a starter in 2014.
Welcome to the Heights, James!
