It's officially official.
New Mexico State will be playing its first year as an Division I-A independent after the WAC discontinued football. The Aggies' finalized 2013 schedule includes games against Boston College, Minnesota, San Diego State, Texas and UCLA. The program is really, really, really excited about playing not one, but two BCS AQ opponents at home for the first time in school history. The school's press release labels this year's Aggies home schedule as "perhaps the greatest home schedule in school history." Well then.
The pertinent scheduling highlights include:
-- Seven homes game, tied for the most to ever be held in Aggie Memorial Stadium
-- NM State will host two schools from a BCS conference, the first time in program history
-- For the first time, a Big 10 opponent will play in Aggie Memorial Stadium (Minnesota)
-- For the first time, an ACC team will play in Aggie Memorial Stadium (Boston College)
This will be the first ever meeting between Boston College and New Mexico State, as well as the Eagles' first game in the state of New Mexico. So who's in?
