Clemson's star wide receiver Sammy Watkins will miss Saturday's game due to an abdominal virus.

Clemson received some bad news on their weekly injury report, as star wide receiver Sammy Watkins was ruled out against Boston College with an abdominal virus. Tigers' coach Dabo Swinney elaborates:

"Sammy has been practicing, but on Tuesday and Wednesday took himself out late in the practice because he was not feeling well," said Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney. "Today he was worse and after going to the doctor it was determined that he needed to stay here this weekend.

Watkins has been limited this year due to a two game suspension for an offseason drug arrest. Last season he became one of the premier WR's in college football finishing the season with 83 catches for 1225 yards, including a seven catch- 152 yard performance against the Eagles.

This is big news for a Boston College defense that has allowed 240 yards a game in the air against FBS opponents. Don't know if this is necessarily a big loss for CU, as the Eagles will still have to contend with running back Andre Ellington, QB Tajh Boyd and another fantastic receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

Clemson will also be without offensive guard Karon Davis (pulled groin), and wide receiver Martavis Bryant (groin).
