11-38.

The Boston College baseball team dropped its final non-conference game of the year on Tuesday; this time a 9-7 decision at home against the Maine Black Bears. The Eagles spotted the Black Bears seven runs through 7 1/2 innings and were outhit 14-11 on the day.

BC couldn't solve Maine's right-handed starter Jake Marks (4-0), who went 6.1 innings and allowed just six hits, three runs and three walks. Redshirt freshman lefty Andrew Chin (1-8) got the start, but only lasted one inning in a designed bullpen day. A total of seven BC pitchers saw action, with senior RPH Jay Jeannotte (0-1) taking the loss, allowing one run in the second inning.

The loss drops the Eagles to 11-38 on the year.

Here's Coach Gambino on the loss.

The Eagles head to College Park to wrap up the season with a three-game set against Maryland beginning on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Like Boston College, the Terrapins have been eliminated from the ACC Baseball Championship going into the final weekend, so this is for nothing more than pride at this point.

With losses in two of its final three games, Birdball will complete the worst year by winning percentage in program history -- besting the 1978 season's mark of 6-18 (.250). So there's that too.
