Happy Friday, BCI!
It was a pretty solid season for the BC softball team, emerging from several down years to put up a 30-win season, finish 7th in the competitive ACC, and qualify for postseason play. Unfortunately, their season is likely over in disappointing fashion, however, after being blanked 3-0 by Notre Dame in yesterday's ACC quarterfinal.
Softball Falls To Notre Dame, 3-0 - Boston College Official Athletic Site
The Boston College softball team lost to second-seeded Notre Dame, 3-0, in the first round of the ACC Softball Championship at the Maryland Softball Stadium in College Park, Maryland on Thursday afternoon. The Eagles are 30-23 on the season, while Notre Dame is 38-10.
My admittedly tenuous understanding is that BC is highly unlikely to gain an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, so this is probably the end of the road. Congrats to them on a good season and hopefully they continue to progress next year.
As one opportunity for spring sports success ends, another begins - the women's lacrosse team looks to parlay their strong season and #6 national ranking into a deep run in the NCAA tournament, and it all starts at home today against Bryant.

Andre Williams looks to be three-down back (Boston Herald)
"I have to be able to catch the ball and protect the quarterback," said Williams. "The way I see myself settling into an NFL offense is that of a three-down back. "I want to be able to do everything that is required of the running back position because it has become so diverse. I want to be able to catch the ball and keep the chains moving on third down and make big plays doing what I do best."

A Letter from University President William P. Leahy, SJ (bc.edu)
In addition, the University has begun planning to turn the University-owned apartment building at 2000 Commonwealth Avenue into an undergraduate residence hall, develop fields for baseball, softball and intramurals on the Brighton Campus, and remodel 2101 Commonwealth Avenue (the former residence of the Cardinal Archbishop of Boston) into the new home of the McMullen Museum of Art. Conceptual design work has also begun on a new student recreation building to be located where Edmonds Hall stands today.
Lots of non-sports-related stuff in there but the tl;dr from a sports perspective is that if you're one of the lacrosse people, realize that the path to what you want is some way other than dropping baseball, because BC isn't dropping baseball.
