Name: Sean Sylvia
Weight: 200 lbs.
High School: Cheshire Academy
2013 Stats: As a junior Sylvia finished the season with 44 tackles, five tackles for losses, and one forced fumble. He also holds the honor of being the first Eagle ejected from a game for targeting in a questionable call in a loss against the University of North Carolina. Had one interception last season in the season opener against Villanova.
2014 Projections: Sylvia gives the BC secondary some good experienced leadership, something they desperately needed. He isn't a real flashy player but can make a play here and there. I would expect Sylvia to start this season, most likely at the free safety position. Missed the spring game due to an undisclosed injury.
How'd He Get Here: Sylvia was a 2* recruit from Rivals, not rated by ESPN, he did not have any other offers from any other schools.
Uniform History: The number #19 doesn't have much of a rich history in BC lore. There are quite a few players who have worn it, but mostly they seem like scout players or backups. In the early 2000's safety Peter Shean wore #19. Shean was a two year starter for the Eagles racking up 100 tackles in his two years on the field. Here he is getting trucked by PIttsburgh QB Tyler Palko:
