Bad news today for the Boston College football program, as prized Connecticut quarterback Quentin Harris will be heading to Tobacco Road to play for David Cutcliffe's Duke Blue Devils
I am very honored and blessed to say that I will be committing to the Duke Blue Devils Football Program! #DukeGang15 pic.twitter.com/H45LJqrMmq

I was a little surprised but the other day one of our lovely BCI commenters brought up some great points on why he believed Harris was going to be a slam dunk for Duke. Harris is heading to a very pass heavy offense, off to get mentored by the Manning's quarterback coach. The Blue Devils have had some very recent success, winning the ACC's Coastal Division title in 2013. Couple that with the academic rigor he was looking for, and the Crystal Ballers at 247Sports probably should have tried to re-read the tea leaves.
It's a tough loss for Addazio who has now lost three major recruits from New England to other schools. Zach Allen and Joe Graziano are off to Northwestern and now Harris is off to Duke. I wouldn't panic just yet, but it would be nice to see BC hit a few more home runs coming up.
In terms of looking ahead for a future quarterback, I would think the next name that BC will be or already are pushing hard for is Georgia QB Hampton McConnell. The two-star signal caller has seen a recent surge in his interest in BC, which may have been again another tea leaf that Harris was heading to Duke. He is expected to be visiting BC soon. Perhaps a commitment will follow shortly?
No ill will to Harris, choosing a pass heavy school over a run heavy school certainly makes sense. Best of luck in Durham, Quentin.
