2013 Preseason All-ACC Team: Kevin Pierre-Louis Lone Boston College Player Selected

Jared Wickerham

One BC Eagle was selected to the All ACC Team.

Today the ACC Media announced their 2013 Preseason All ACC Team, and wouldn't you guess Boston College was not respected in the selection. One Eagle was selected, senior linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis. This is actually an increase from 2012 when zero Eagles were picked for the team. See? Progress! The last two players selected to the preseason team were Luke Kuechly and Montel Harris in 2011.

There were no real big surprises in terms of the team breakdown of players selected. FSU lead the conference with 6 players, followed by North Carolina with four, Clemson with three. The bottom was filled out by Duke, Miami and Wake Forest with two selections, while Boston College, Georgia Tech Maryland, Pittsburgh, Virginia and Virginia Tech each placed one player on the team. Syracuse didn't have any players selected, womp womp.

I understand why BC wasn't well represented on this list because teams that finished the previous season 2-10 usually don't get much respect in these types of polls. The only big surprise for me was that Alex Amidon was left off the list. He is the leading returning wide receiver in the ACC in terms of yards, catches and touchdowns. Yet if you look at the top four wide receivers in terms of votes, he was left off the list completely. Oh well, haters are going to hate.

You can find the entire All ACC Team below.
