ACC Football Schedule: The Cure

The ACC football schedules are out for the next 11 years and I think I’m with everyone when I say I’m a little disappointed. I know realignment has its disadvantages when it comes to scheduling, but it doesn’t have to be that way. I’ve got the cure! Not playing your in-state rival? I can fix that. Geography got you down? That shouldn’t be a problem. With this scheduling arrangement, I believe every conference member will get what they want conference schedule-wise and we didn't have to alter the divisions! All it takes is for the conference to move to 9 games, and have 2 protected crossover games with 1 rotating game (6-2-1). If FSU complains about playing Florida AND Notre Dame in the same season with a cupcake home game… remind them they won national championships with the mentality that they’ll play anybody, anytime, anyplace. The College Playoffs are here, and the time for "Big Boy" schedules are now. Schools might lose revenue on years in which they lose a home game, but it’ll be worth it in the long run with added TV revenue and added exposure. With the 2 protected crossover games, it will fix numerous problems facing the league today. All Tobacco Road schools will be playing each other annually again, FSU will revive its yearly rivalry with its closest in-conference opponent (Georgia Tech), and newcomer Louisville will play 2 of its closer conference mates (UVA just doesn’t make since. I don’t know why Greensboro refuses to see this?). On UVA, Maryland’s departure really put them in a tough spot crossover-wise so I made sure their schedule was extra orange! One complaint about the new schedules was the amount of trips schools would take to Florida on a yearly basis. This will not solve that problem, but with 9 games the odds are better (Unless you’re BC or GT, then problem solved!). We can all debate on what the protected games should be, but this arrangement makes the most sense to me. Without further ado, here are the protected games:
