Tyler Murphy has decided to transfer from Florida. He is eligible to play immediately next year since he just graduated on Saturday as a junior. His reasons for transferring are that he wants to start next year and he wants to play closer to home.
How does this make sense for BC? Well, he is a talented mobile quarterback that would give them a stopgap year to redshirt Wade. He will be an obvious upgrade to the quarterback play of Chase Rettig this past year, as he played extremely well in his 3 healthy games. Also, we like transfers from Florida in the Addazio era.
Why would he come to BC? He would have a great opportunity to start right away in the ACC. He is from Connecticut, so his family could see him play, while not suffering through the terror that is UConn. However, the biggest catch is he was recruited by then Florida offensive coordinator Steve Addazio, his family friend. This almost makes too much sense right?
Sounds like a perfect dude to join the family.
