USA Today just announced that Andre Williams has been named to the first team All America squad. This shouldn't come as any surprise necessarily, but it does mark the start of hardware season for Andre, who by the time this is all over, will probably be the most decorated Eagle in Boston College history not named Flutie.
Williams is joined at running back by Arizona's Ka'Deem Carey, so very interesting in that fellow Heisman finalist Tre Mason is not his backfield partner. Mason was a second team choice.
Other noteables on the squad include Jameis Winston at QB, Texas A&M's Mike Evans and Vanderbilt's Jordan Matthews at the WRs and TE Chase Amaro from Texas Tech.
Seven ACC players in total were named to the first team including four Florida State Seminoles. Williams and Winston are joined by FSU kicker Roberto Aguayo, CB Lamarcus Joyner, OL Cameron Ewing, along with Pitt's Aaron Donald and Clemson DE Vic Beasley.
Everything that shines is gold for Andre right now...keep it rolling and onto the Doak Walker.
Go Andre! Go Eagles!!
