Happy October! It's hockey month... and Homecoming Week.

Video Game Stats for BC Commits (247Sports.com)
Okay, so when I saw this headline, I thought they were telling me what these kids' stats were when they played Madden or whatever over the weekend, and thought it was an even new low in the creepo level of these recruiting websites. Thankfully, that's not the case at all:

Quarterback commit Darius Wade continued his amazing senior season over the weekend, throwing for four touchdowns and running for another in a 47-6 win for Middletown (DE). He has now accounted for 14 touchdowns through four games.

Rettig’s in pilot seat (Boston Herald)

This week represents a better opportunity for quarterback Chase Rettig and the rest of the Boston College football team's passing offense to produce positive results. With Army set to visit Alumni Stadium on Saturday, Rettig should have more time in the pocket and the Eagles wide receivers should find more open space.

ACC Power Rankings: Week 5 (ESPN ACC Blog)

No. 9 Boston College (2-2, 1-1; last week: No. 11). Coaches take no solace in moral victories, but there has to be some sense of confidence in knowing this team could hang with the No. 8 team in the nation. The biggest difference between last year and this year is the way the Eagles are playing up front. That translates directly into their success running the football. Andre Williams leads the ACC in rushing and is halfway to a 1,000-yard season after only four games (505 yards). Pretty impressive, considering BC was one of the worst rushing teams in the nation in 2012.

Boston College women expected on top in Hockey East (USCHO.com)
As for the regular-season crown, it would appear to be BC's to lose. However, that is a prize the Eagles have never won, coming up a point short in each of the previous two campaigns.

H.S. girls soccer: Northern Highlands star picks Boston College (NorthJersey.com)

A junior who was expected to be one of the top midfielders in the state before suffering a torn ACL in April that will sideline her for the season, Leipzig, committed to Boston College on Friday, choosing the Eagles over Michigan, the University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown.

"I've loved Boston College for a while, and after my visit I just knew I wanted to go there," Leipzig said. "The soccer program is amazing and also the girls were so confident and welcoming. They immediately made me feel like I wanted to be a part of the program."
