Matt Ryan is one game away from the Super Bowl, can he finish off Colin Kapernick?
Big game today as Boston College's own Matt Ryan is just one win away from the Super Bowl. At 3:00 today the Atlanta Falcons will be taking on the San Francisco 49ers with the NFC Title and a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. Matt Ryan has been dogged for years about his inability to produce in the big games, but last week he was able to shed some of those labels by defeating Seattle at home.
Boston College fans everywhere will be pulling for their beloved quarterback. Well all those alumni that don't live in the Bay Area. Ryan is looking to become just the second former Boston College quarterback to start in the Super Bowl (Seattle's Matt Hasselbeck, Super Bowl XL). It's going to be a tough one today though as San Francisco is possibly the best defense in the NFL. Also in his way is Colin Kaepernick, the Nevada quarterback who defeated BC in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in 2010 before he got to the NFL and got all big time.
Matty Ice is ready.
"Our goal is not to win one playoff game," said Matt Ryan, who was 24 of 35 for 250 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions against the Seahawks. "Our goals are still in front of us. We still have two more games to go. That's the mindset I have. That's the mindset this team has."
