Here is our week 3 preliminary BlogPoll ballot. Thoughts / inputs welcome.
There's no change to the top five this week, with Alabama holding down the top spot on our ballot for the third straight week. USC, LSU, Oklahoma and Oregon round out the top five.
That's not to say that there wasn't much change from last week's ballot as we cast off 1/5 of last week's ballot this time around. Dropping from this week's ballot are Arkansas (lost 34-31 in OT to Louisiana-Monroe), Oklahoma State (lost 59-38 to Arizona), Nebraska (lost 36-30 to U.C.L.A.) and Washington (lost 41-3 to LSU). Also gone this week is Georgia Tech, though we filled out our ballot prior to last Monday night's OT loss to Virginia Tech.
Replacing those five teams this week are U.C.L.A., BYU, Louisville, Tennessee and Boston College's week 3 opponent, Northwestern.
By conference: SEC (6), Big 12 (5), Big Ten (5), PAC-12 (4), ACC (3), Big East (1), Independent (1).
Teams encouraging the most disagreement between ballots include Wisconsin (9.19), Louisville (7.07), U.C.L.A. (6.36), West Virginia (5.00), TCU, Tennessee and Notre Dame (4.24). Jeff and I both agree in only three spots on this week's ballot, all at the top -- No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 USC and No. 3 LSU.
Maybe next week: Nebraska, Notre Dame, Boise State, Washington and Georgia Tech.
Final ballot is due Wednesday morning. Do your worst, internet.
