Our first shutout, as the 1984 Miami win shuts out our #7 seed, the 1992 first ever win at Happy Valley, to advance to the tournament semifinal. Waiting on the other side is another win from the 1984 season, the comeback at Alabama.

So we have finally reached the tournament semi-finals and not so surprisingly the games that are left are the 1, 2, 3 and 4 seeds. The opening semifinal pits the #1 seed, the Tom Coughlin Bracket Champion, the 1993 win at #1 Notre Dame against the #4 seed, the 1976 win over Earl Campbell, Darryl Royal and the Texas Longhorns.

Interesting that the web site, The Bleacher Report, did a post some time ago about the 10 Greatest Games of the past 30 years and Boston College did in fact, show up twice. The 1993 Notre Dame game was ranked #7 and the 1984 Miami game was #2. Their all time #1, the 2006 National Championship game where Vince Young and Texas upset #1 USC, 41-38.
