2012 NCAA Football Relegation - Week 1

Stay connected for news and updates

[Ed. note - Front Page'd]

Welcome to week one of the college football season and the 2012 NCAA Football Relegation schedule. Each Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (depending on my time and my mood!), I will post the previous week's results as well as updated standings, schedules, etc. You can find that spreadsheet here.

For all BC games, I will also post detailed descriptions and statistics surrounding the simulation of their game that week. Keep in mind that the Eagles received the first bye in their Division, so they open up next Saturday, September 8 when they visit the Kentucky Wildcats.

Results of all games will be from simulations, with the exception of games played by the same teams, playing on the same week at the same site as their actual non-avatar counterparts.

Note that I have also added in to the weekly spreadsheet, the straw man schedule for the relegation and promotion games, the playoff schedule and the bowl games, including dates.

Obviously with the way this is set up, pretty much every game is important, but some of the more interesting games in Conference A (the top 52 teams) this week with the Eagles on break include:

West Virginia at Arkansas
Virginia Tech at LSU
Nebraska at Stanford
Kansas State at South Carolina
Texas at Georgia

So for the mean time, it appears that SB Nation has taken away the ability to create polls with Fan Posts, so I will ask the question and see what we get for comments.

How many teams should qualify for the playoffs in the 52 team divisions considering four, 13 team divisions?

Next week we will discuss those answers and why I went with just the champion of each division.
