According to Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald, Boston College athletic director Gene DeFilippo will retire effective Sept. 30, according to several close sources. There is no word of an immediate replacement or how it affects the current BC Athletic program. DeFilippo, 62, has been the AD at the Heights since 1997. Under DeFilippo’s guidance, the athletic program moved from the Big East to the Atlantic Coast Conference. Since then Boston College has gone through multiple coaching changes in mens basketball and football program.
