According to Rivals' Justin Rowland, Boston College has received a verbal commitment from Orlando, Florida safety Matt Milano. Milano is a three star prospect according to Rivals and two stars per Scout. The 6-foot-1, 202 pound defensive back claims offers from Air Force, Arizona, Bowling Green, Miami (Ohio) and Stony Brook.
Here's Rivals scouting report of Milano from his performance at Michigan State's one-day summer camp.
The 6-foot-1, 202-pound Milano is a well-put-together kid who will definitely play the safety spot in college, but when he was asked to come down and check wide receivers 1-on-1 in man coverage, he showed the fluidity and speed to hang with the best.
Last season, Milano lead the Dr. Phillips (Orlando) defense, recording 123 tackles, 17 TFLs, four sacks and three forced fumbles in a breakout year as a junior. As a sophomore, Milano backed up highly regarded safety recruits Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix (now at Alabama) and Roderick Ryles (Pittsburgh). Spending time behind guys like Clinton-Dix and Ryles helped Milano have a breakout season.
"I think me having to wait my turn to play really helped me get to where I'm at now," Milano said. "It really showed me little things what to do here and there ... sometimes if you jump into it too fast, you really don't know what you're doing."
Milano is the 13th recruit for the class of 2013 and first recruited for the Eagles' secondary.
