On Tuesday, Boston University released its 2012-13 hockey schedule, putting three more games on the defending National Champions slate. The Eagles head down the B line on Sunday, November 11 for a 5 PM game against the Terriers, followed by a home-and-home series on November 30 (7:30 PM at Agganis) and December 1 (7 PM at Conte).
Last season, the Eagles dropped the first two games of the regular season series to the Terriers before taking the final regular season meeting 6-1 at Agganis. BC knotted the series at two when it counted most with a 3-2 overtime victory over BU in the Beanpot Championship. Bless you, Bill Arnold.
In 28 seasons of Hockey East play, the two arch rivals run 1-2 in the all-time Hockey East standings. Boston College has 412 wins to BU's 405, while BU has the slight edge in all-time winning percentage (.626 to .623). In 259 contests, BU leads the all-time series 127-114-17.
In other scheduling news, UMass is the only other HEA program besides BC yet to release its schedule for next season. (the Minutemen also still don't have a coach). Looking at this year's tentative schedule, it looks like the Eagles will face the Minutemen over three separate weekends.
Go Eagles!
