Boston College Football Recruiting: QB Mackay Lowrie Commits To Boston College

Stay connected for news and updates

Rivals' Justin Rowland is reporting that Boston College football received a verbal commitment from Roxbury Latin QB Mackay Lowrie. The 6-foot-4, 200 pound pro-style quarterback would be the third commitment for the class of 2013.

The QB took a visit to campus back in March and had this to say about his trip.

"I had a chance to talk to the coaches. Another highlight of the trip was getting to sit in there with Coach Martin for his pre-scrimmage talk. That was cool, being with all the offensive guys. They broke down a few plays.

"I had a chance to talk to Coach Spaz and Coach Martin so I met with them for a while."

A local product, Lowrie has no other Division I-A offers at this time but was taking a look at Virginia, Rutgers and UConn. Lowrie actually started his career as a cornerback but moved under center for his sophomore season. During his sophomore season, he completed 58 percent of his passes for 1,135 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Not a ton out there on Lowrie at the moment, so these highlights will have to tide you over.

Welcome to the Heights, Mackay.
