The second recruit that picked BC is also a guard, but plays much differently than Joe Rahon. His name is Olivier Hanlan, and here is his profile:
Position: Point Guard
Physically: 6'3", 185 pounds
Hometown: Quebec, Canada
Ratings: ESPN-89, Rivals-3 Stars, Scout-3 Stars
Other Schools Involved: Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Dayton
What he brings to BC: While Hanlan can shoot 3's very well, which Donahue craves, he plays more as a slasher. While he played on a New Hampton team that had four other 4 star recruits from future classes in the starting lineup with him, he was probably New Hampton's best player, and he excelled in his role as a leader (one of his best attributes). He is a terrific passer and uses his court vision to his advantage. He's very strong for a guard his size, and he's known for using his strength to his advantage. He is also poised on the fast break. He excels on defense and is very good at pressuring the ball. He also does a very good job not turning over the ball.
Bottom Line: Hanlan should step in right away and make a difference as a very good defensive player, leader, scorer, and passer. With him and Jordan Daniels, BC should be fine in the coming years at the point guard position.
