Luke Kuechly started off the 2012 NFL Draft with a bang for the Boston College Eagles. Unfortunately, that was it for BC, as the other six eligible players went undrafted. Ifeanyi Momah, Ryan Quigley, Lars Anderson, Max Holloway and Donnie Fletcher all did not hear their names called on Saturday.
But the news wasn't all bad, as Donnie Fletcher will be heading to the NFL after all. After the seventh round of the draft Fletcher made the announcement that he had signed with the New York Jets. Unfortunately I can't embed the tweet because Fletcher has his tweets protected.
Also in quasi-BC draft news, former BC QB Dominique Davis found a home as well, as he reportedly signed a FA deal with the Atlanta Falcons. Davis, who was once the backup to Matt Ryan and then transferred to ECU after academic eligibility issues, will reunite with Ice in Atlanta. Even though he left BC, it's still cool to see a former BC recruit make it to the big show.
As of now the other five players have not been reported to have signed with any NFL teams, but this news moves fast and furiously so if we hear anything BCI will have you covered. Congratulations to Donnie Fletcher and best of luck in the NFL!
