CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College baseball team scored a season-high 17 runs as it won the series finale against No. 1 Florida State, 17-6, Sunday afternoon at Eddie Pellagrini Diamond at Commander Shea Field.
It was the most runs allowed by the Seminoles in an ACC game since the 2004 season.
Sophomore Tom Bourdon led the offense by going 4-for-6 with a homer, two doubles, three RBIs and four runs. It was his team-leading eighth home run of the season. Senior Anthony Melchionda belted his fifth homer while going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and four runs. Junior Matt Paré had three hits and two RBIs.
Senior Kyle Prohovich notched the win on the mound after throwing 3.2 shutout innings of relief. He struck out three and allowed two hits to improve to 1-1 on the year.
