Two Former Eagles On World Championship Roster

Stay connected for news and updates

[Ed. note -- Front Page'd]

USA Hockey announced the first 17 players for the World Championship roster today, and two former Eagles were on the list: forwards Nathan Gerbe (Buffalo Sabres) and Cam Atkinson (Columbus Blue Jackets). Both come from NHL clubs that failed to reach the post-season, though Atkinson has been assigned to Springfield of the AHL for the playoff push.

In addition to Gerbe and Atkinson, BC will be further represented by Scott Gordon ('86), as the former Islanders head coach and current Maple Leafs assistant will lead Team USA for the third consecutive year. Gordon will be joined on the staff by fellow Leafs assistant and former Northeastern head coach Greg Cronin. On behalf of all your fellow Eagles coach Gordon, please thank Cronin again for letting Johnny Gaudreau end up on the Heights.
