Paul Carey has signed with Colorado and Barry Almeida with Washington. The Avs did not qualify for the NHL playoffs, but their AHL affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters, currently hold the eighth and final playoff spot in the AHL's Western Conference. As for Almeida, he'll report to Washington's Hershey affiliate, which has already clinched a playoff berth.
In much bigger news, Chris Kreider is reportedly in talks with the Rangers. The same link cites several reports speculating that Brian Dumoulin will sign with Carolina today. Kreider may well bolster the Rangers for their playoff run. The Hurricanes did not qualify for the NHL playoffs and their AHL affiliate in Charlotte is currently on the outside looking in at the AHL playoff picture. They have three regular season games remaining after tonight.
