Boston College held its annual Pro Day this afternoon at Alumni Stadium, drawing 34 scouts from 27 NFL teams and major NFL agent Tom Condon. The Pro Day featured athletes from Boston College, but also from local colleges such as Holy Cross and UMass. Think of Pro Days as mini combines -- a way for players to show why an NFL team should either draft them or pick them up in free agency. At the combine participants were scouted based on film evaluation, height/weight check in, vertical jump, bench press, run tests and individual workouts.
This year's Boston College Pro Day featured:
-- Tight end Lars Anderson
-- Defensive back Donnie Fletcher
-- Defensive end Max Holloway
-- Linebacker Luke Kuechly
-- Wide receive Ifeanyi Momah
-- Punter Ryan Quigley
-- Offensive lineman/center Mark Spinney
-- Fullback/linebacker Dan Williams
Going into Pro Day the only players getting any draft buzz were Donnie Fletcher and Luke Kuechly. Though it's not out of the realm of possibility that Ryan Quigley has earned himself a spot on someone's roster after his final season at the Heights. Today would have been crucial for players like Lars Anderson, Momah and Holloway all who didn't show enough in college to garner pro attention
The Pro Day was closed to the public so we will never know how each of the Eagles players did, but if a name pops up during draft day that you didn't expect, you can assume their Pro Day went well.
