The casual fan goes to sport events usually only goes though, because they are “events” not necessarily for the game itself.

I mean press, run do something positive.

I would just put in Clifford and let him plauy until he fouls out?

Donahue had better get some skilled players next year, a lots of them.

This is one god awful team, but at leats they hustle.

Clifford out High in the Offense is USELESS!!!

This big slow gaulk needs to be with his back to the basket and use his post moves whihc are not bad and when covered dish out for a 3 ball or open guy.

This Hi-lo sucks, but then again, Stevie D could take a dump and it would have more hoops X’s and O’s that me, but this is helter skelter.

I don’t think the don trusts clifford to do this, and I kinda question whether he is ready to either, but you are right there is no sense in the offense we run a good mile outside of the perimeter where no one has any opportunity to attack or score down low

regardless of whether or not we win

I would go as far as to say that those ten minutes of basketball have been the highlight of this season… Eagles were gettin stomped on to open that game and responded with a 23-5 run hitting 6 straight three’s against a great defensive team. The first 2 acc wins were great, but that was the most exciting bit of basketball anyone on this team has played at the collegiate level

the first couple looked like they were just desperation 3’s since we were down so much, but once 2 or 3 of them dropped and we were back in the game they started running a solid offense with the pick and roll that got pretty good looks which everyone was hitting

WHY BCPD SUCKS

Just as we were getting ready to storm the court the security guards told us that we could storm the court … then some BCPD officer told us we couldn’t. True story.

by TheBigRedDog on Feb 8, 2012 10:42 PM EST up reply actions

Think BC was better off not storming the court.

by Brian Favat on Feb 8, 2012 10:45 PM EST up reply actions

I am a college freshman so I am a bit naive as to the ways of the court storming. All I know is that it may be the only oppurtunity I have to storm the court and I hope I don’t look back on this day wistfully … Then again Pitt and Syracuse joining the ACC mean we’ll get about 2 storm worthy games a year (either Duke or UNC and Pitt or Cuse) … ah callow youth!

Beating No. 1 North Carolina on the road in 2009? Oh that’s right, no one remembers that game because Gene upstaged the team not 48 hours later.

by Brian Favat on Feb 8, 2012 9:18 PM EST up reply actions

I was counting that one. The tyrese rice show. I think w circumstances this one was more surprising.

That one was more satisfying though

by cwm2005 on Feb 8, 2012 10:31 PM EST via iPhone app up reply actions

i cant forget that one

tyrese came out of the locker room dancing then went the F off! Its tough to say which is more surprising… obviously that team had more goin for it (just in that they had a proven stud in rice), but they also beat a better team, with less of a penchant for blowing big games than FSU… and that was on the road

by bloomsday16 on Feb 8, 2012 10:52 PM EST up reply actions

I mean, FSU scored fewer points against Harvard than we did …

And lost to Princeton. And crushed by Clemson (on the road, still).

Scenario: The 21 students there storm the court.
The bad: Would have looked awful on (internet) “TV”
The good: Would have been hilarious to the BC insiders who already knew how bad attendance was.

Anyway, great job. I have complaints about details but there’s no point in voicing them, I’ll just enjoy the win against a Top 20 team.

Storm

do you guys think this was a storm worthy win? Security was telling the students it would be a disgrace to the university if they did. People were coming from all over who wanted to

by joshsouthern on Feb 8, 2012 9:32 PM EST reply actions

If we had more students there, maybe.

Boston College, Class of 2010

by polarbearbrother on Feb 8, 2012 9:36 PM EST up reply actions

Personally, I prefer the “no storming the court” to storming the court, since that would have validated FSU a bit more.

I only stormed the court once in college when BC upset Syracuse, but we snapped a ridiculously long losing streak to SU.

I was there for that one too, and also stormed the court. Probably my most memorable game I can remember.

In person, agreed. That game really jump started BC home attendance for the next 3 years.

Because we were favored!

Top 10 team, long-time hoops/football rival, hadn’t beat SU in a few years. Perfectly acceptable.

by Brian Favat on Feb 9, 2012 6:14 AM EST via mobile up reply actions

I rushed it when we beat #5 Duke. Think this was worthy as well.

by hoyaeagle on Feb 8, 2012 9:49 PM EST up reply actions

FSU is #15. And fsu-football school. Storming would have been bad form. Save it for top 5 teams at least.

Both SU and Duke are good examples of defensible court-storming

This game...

showed that we can take down a ranked opponent, and that Donahue knows what he’s doing with this team. I’m not saying that it’s going to be wins here on out, but the guys now know what kind of game it takes to win.

Boston College, Class of 2010

First win over a ranked opponent since … 2009 against Florida State. Snaps a nine game skid against ranked teams.

by Brian Favat on Feb 8, 2012 10:00 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

Donahue has a win against a ranked team it took two years. Spaz… we are still waiting. (And no I don’t consider the win against a ranked Central Michigan team impressive in ’09)

by Wisconsineagle on Feb 8, 2012 10:07 PM EST reply actions

You Can See

That Donahue has this team headed in the right direction. We may have a challenger for the title for best coach of the past 15 years.

I chose to watch the Pacers tonight instead of BC

I chose poorly on a Walter Donovan level.

Question

Espn recap states that this is BC’s first win against a ranked team in 3 years. That doesn’t sound right. Does anyone know if this is true or not? (P.S. the ESPN video also called Boston College “BCC” another reason not to trust them)

That Kid

I would love to see 20 kids in full dog suits … so incredible. Although the suits are pretty expensive, running over 80 dollars per suit (I asked for one as my only birthday present)

Maybe have some people dress up as a bottle of Jack as well …?

We get it! We may be old but my kid watched that show!

I always waited for the Dog to take a huge dump on someone’s house, but my wife said do not influence the child since she will repeat that.

Gene D. needs to make you Leader of the BMDP - Big Maroon Dog Pack and chip in an but 100 specially dyed maroon full body dog suits!!

Over 9 seasons, I have had better ideas than the Fenway Fools run by GDF!

Great job! We all wish we were there kid!

We Beat Duke

We should storm the Towers on the Heights and pour boiling molten lead on unsuspecting virgins as a sacrifice to the gods.

So a few rich Gucci and Prada clad coeds loose some assessories, but BC Hoops will be better off and that makes our world just a little bit better.

by BCEagle74 on Feb 8, 2012 11:39 PM EST reply actions

I don’t think sacrifices to Molech are acceptable at a Catholic school. I think that Leviticus book or something says something about burning gucci accessories.

by TheBigRedDog on Feb 8, 2012 11:42 PM EST reply actions

Assessories Are Ok --- All Except Expensive Jewelry Are Acceptable

“You shall not give any of your children to devote them by fire to Molech, and so profane The Name of your God: I am The Lord” (Leviticus 18:21 RSV)

Molech was a pagan pervert. Some of his followers post on EO, and most go to BU an other heathen sewers!

This is why we are a Jesuit Christian University. We follow the Bible, the Baby Jesus, all our women are virgins and we are allowed to wear dogs suits.

This makes us the Greatest University in the Galaxy!
