Spazoo's and Gene Theme Songs Singer/Writer Dies

Davy Jones, the lead singer of The Monkees, died this morning after suffering a heart attack in Indiantown, Fla., his representative confirmed to ABC News. He was 6 and 6.

The British born Jones joined The Monkees in 1966 and contributed to a stable of rock hits, including "Daydream Believer" and "I’m a Believer."

The Non-Championship Flags after 1940 at the Yawkey Football Office War Room will be flown at halfmast and the 2 songs will be played during the Veals on Wheels lunch break with the maintenance crew having a moment of silence, or silencio if illegal immigrants.

Spazoo was quoted as saying, “Hey, I daydream all the time that my 2 star recruit guys are really 5 star recruits, and then I just take a nap!”

Gene added, “Spazoo made a believer outta me last year when we were headed for disaster and Spazoo coached’em up to 4-8 since Jags left the cupboard bare years ago. I believe we have the best Coach ever in 16 years…..and hey, aren’t those roasted peppers and provolone on the surprise antipasto simply not to be believed!!”

by bloomsday16 on Feb 29, 2012 7:29 PM EST up reply actions

I want to be in the 17-19 win range at a minimum next season.

by hoyaeagle on Feb 29, 2012 7:30 PM EST up reply actions

by bloomsday16 on Feb 29, 2012 7:33 PM EST up reply actions

I’ll be satisfied with that… upset if we’re below it.

by hoyaeagle on Feb 29, 2012 7:42 PM EST up reply actions

Harvard with Dartmouth

BU with Northeastern
Holy Cross with AIC

yea i understand that

My only point is the non-conf schedule isn’t getting any easier next season. I mean, the only major conference program we played in non-conf was Penn State. Penn freaking State.

Undefeated. National Championship. Shutout Duke at Cameron Indoor.

FearTheSword, SBNation's Cleveland Cavaliers blog

by Conrad Kaczmarek on Feb 29, 2012 7:42 PM EST up reply actions

Keep in mind ...

BC had a VERY favorable schedule this year: Two game series against:

Wake Forest — who is still Wake Forest
Miami — first-year coach
N.C. State — first-year coach
Georgia Tech — first-year coach
Virginia Tech — lost a ton of talent

The ACC isn’t getting Syracuse and Pitt next year, which means the scheduling rotation will continue. That means next year BC gets 2x:

Miami
Virginia Tech
Clemson
Duke
Florida State

Much, much less favorable ACC sched next year. BC has struggled in years where we get this group 2×.

by Brian Favat on Feb 29, 2012 7:47 PM EST up reply actions

The worst part is of the 10 games where we played an ACC team 2x this year, we are 1-8. Hopefully 2-8, but still.

BC Needs to Stay hot from the 3 Ball Line

Those rims sound like they loosened the bolts.

Just think, we get really hot and win 4 in the ACC Tourney and get a #62 seed or 16, we win 6 and Conrad becomes a Saint?

Could happen?

by BCEagle74 on Feb 29, 2012 7:51 PM EST up reply actions

IF BC becomes the first ACC program to win four games in four games, that’s good for at least a 13 seed.

Tha’ts a quick turnaround time. Thanks.

by hoyaeagle on Feb 29, 2012 8:44 PM EST up reply actions

But I thought it was when we limit the other team to under 10 offensive rebounds. Could be wrong.

by hoyaeagle on Feb 29, 2012 8:45 PM EST up reply actions

Yup
BC wants to hit 10 3-pointers, keep its turnovers to 10 or fewer and to keep the opponent to 10 or fewer offensive rebounds.

by Brian Favat on Feb 29, 2012 8:46 PM EST up reply actions

yea you had to know that was the case… when have we EVER gotten 10 offensive rebounds?
