When you look at how some of our very best players (e.g., Wiswall, Sanchez, etc) have done in the minors (see http://www.bceagles.com/sports/m-basebl/spec-rel/071009aac.html), its seems that it's a much bigger leap from college to the Majors in baseball than it is in most other sports. Our very best hitters are mired with low batting averages in the minors. The quality of the pitching even in A and AA ball is probably much better than ACC pitching. And our guys who have made it to AAA are now in or approaching their 30's. The kids who step right into the Majors from high school must be phenomenal.
