National Signing Day, Boston College Recruiting: TE Dan Crimmins

Part of BC Interruption's National Signing Day Coverage.

Dan Crimmins
Hometown: Demarest, New Jersey
High School: Demarest
Position: Tight End
Height: 6-5
Weight: 220 lbs
40: 4.7 secs
Bench Max: 215
Squat Max: 305

Rankings: Rivals 3* (state 23), ESPN 3* (rated a 76, position 50, regional 138, 29 state), Scout 3* (position 46), 247 Sports 3* (position 170, state 40). Selected Boston College over Connecticut and Temple. Recruited by Bill McGovern.

Strengths: At 6-5, 220, Crimmins is already a pretty big target who played on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball in high school. He had an outstanding senior season, catching 55 balls for 1,249 yards and 18 touchdowns as a wide receiver. At BC, Crimmins will likely transition to tight end.

Realistic Outlook: Where Giacone served as more of a blocking TE at St. Peter's Prep, Crimmins is more of a true wide receiver that will be converted to TE. He's a big target that appears tough to take down and could excel in Doug Martin's offense. Both Giacone and Crimmins' games seem to complement one another and the future at TE seems bright for BC.

Welcome to the Heights, Dan!

Possession

He looks like he could be the possession receiver we have been missing these past few years. No-one has been able to stand out at the receiver position since the days of Gunnell. I think the coaches should keep him as a Slot/Tight end like Aaron Hernandez and make it virtually impossible for defenses to stop that mixture of size and possession.

to be honest that doesn’t seem like a very good bench or squat… i mean my roommate is benching and squatting more than that and is by no means strong enough to play tight end at a D1 school… could the numbers be wrong? or is it just not the biggest deal?

great video

Crimmins is quite a receiver. Great vision in the open field. Super after catch yardage.

and his QB, junior, was awesome. Kid is Blake Geller

“BLAKE GELLER

Demarest, QB

Geller was one of the most prolific single-season passers in North Jersey history.

A junior and first-year starter, he completed 62 percent of his passes for 3,133 yards, 31 touchdowns and just six interceptions for the 7-3 Norsemen"
