Boston College Hockey Jumps To No. 3 In Latest USCHO.com Poll

After waxing Northeastern and Vermont by a combined score of 13-2 this past week, the Eagles hockey team (18-10-1) -- winners of four straight -- jumped two spots in the latest USCHO.com poll. BC also earned 13 out of a possible 50 first-place votes, the first time the Eagles have received any first-place votes since December 5.

Surprising Ferris State (20-8-4) received 27 first-place votes and is your new number 1 after Boston University was upset by Massachusetts on Friday night. Boston University drops to second, receiving six first-place votes. Minnesota-Duluth and Michigan round out the top five.

After BC and BU, UMass-Lowell (19-8-0) -- who is currently in a three-way tie with Michigan and BC in the PairWise -- is ranked sixth, followed by Merrimack (15-7-6) at nine and Maine (17-9-3) at no. 11. Hockey East placed five teams in this week's top 11 this week. Who says it's a down year in Hockey East?

So it will be number 2 vs. number 3 for the 'Pot tonight. As it should be.

Go Eagles!

I wonder when the last time was that BC and BU faced off for a Beanpot final with both teams ranked in the top 3 in the country?
