National Signing Day, Boston College Recruiting: CB Bryce Jones

Part of BC Interruption's National Signing Day Coverage.

Bryce Jones
Hometown: Cleveland Heights, Ohio
High School: Cleveland Heights
Position: Cornerback
Height: 5-11
Weight: 160 lbs
Shuttle: 4.2

Ratings: Rivals 2*, ESPN NR (rated a 45), Scout 2*, 247 Sports 2* (position 195, state 109). Selected Boston College over Air Force, Army, UMass and Northern Illinois. Recruited by Ben Sirmans.

Strengths: Jones played quarterback, cornerback and punter for Cleveland Heights, guiding Cleveland Heights HS to their first-ever appearance in the state playoffs. During his junior season, he threw for 900 yards and 8 TDs, and rushed for 200 more and 2 more ... all after being named the starter in week four. He was also a standout track star in high school, running indoor track / decathlon. He has been recruited to play field corner at BC.

Quotable: "Pretty much it was everything about Boston College. I loved everything about the campus and it was my number one choice coming into the visit. The only thing holding me back was I wanted to see the campus and make sure it fit me. I had a great time meeting all the coaches and the players."

Optimistic Outlook: Jones redshirts this season, and his athleticism allows him to break into the starting secondary his junior year after learning under ALJ. Between now and then, he also gives the Eagles a much needed boost returning kickoffs and punts on the special teams unit.

Welcome to the Heights, Bryce!
