2013 Opening Game

Stay connected for news and updates

Although the 2013 schedule is yet to be released, we are able to narrow down to 3 teams that BC could open up against Labor Day weekend. The reason I post this is that as a BC fan, I want to get the season off to a good start. I want to go home with a win and to celebrate during a long weekend.

This is quite possible for 2013, with possible opening games against Stony Brook, Wake Forest or Duke. The other 11 ACC schools, including Pitt and Cuse, are booked opening weekend, as is New Mexico State. USC and Army have already signed for September 14th and October 5th respectively.

Wake Forest has only scheduled two non-conference games so far for 2013 and neither fall on Labor Day weekend. Duke's date vs N.C. Central (FCS school) is TBD with another game to add. Stony Brook has not released a schedule yet.

The last time BC was away for Labor Day weekend was in 2008 when BC beat Kent State in Cleveland Brown stadium. If the current home/away division schedule remains the same, BC would host Wake Forest next season. The coastal opponent is TBD as is Duke's for a road coastal team.

With all that being said, I feel confident in saying that BC will be playing Stony Brook at home opening weekend, as Wake Forest still can schedule an FCS school and Duke could play NC Central that weekend. Then let's hope we have a bye week to get ready for USC!
