The University of California announced today their final non-conference game next season will be at home against Portland State. This leaves 14 FBS institutions plus any MWC team playing at Hawaii with openings next season. 3 schools have 2 games to fill. They are New Mexico State, Texas State and BYU (they have 11 games scheduled but may schedule 13 due to playing at Hawaii). The remaining 11 FBS schools with an opening are Alabama, Missouri, Arizona, Middle Tennessee, Central Michigan, Tulane, Memphis, UTEP, Marshall, Southern Miss and Idaho.
Central Michigan appears unlikely due to scheduling games at Michigan, at NC State and at UNLV.
Southern Miss appears unlikely having scheduled games at Nebraska, at Arkansas and at Boise State.
In other words, we have a 1 in 6 chance of playing Alabama or Missouri.
