Conflicting Reports On Next Boston College Athletic Director Hire

Former Boston Globe BC beat writer Mark Blaudschun is reporting that the school will hire former BC football player, justice department official and FBI agent Quentin Williams as next Boston College Director of Athletics on Tuesday.

Former Boston Globe BC beat writer Mark Blaudschun is reporting that the school will hire former BC football player, justice department official and FBI agent Quentin Williams as next Boston College Director of Athletics on Tuesday. This report contradicts 98.5 The Sports Hub producer Chris Curtis' earlier Tweet that Army's Boo Corrigan would be named Gene DeFilippo's successor.

The search for a new Director of Athletics for Boston College will come to an end on Tuesday when a replacement is named for Gene DeFilippo who retired on Sept. 30th.

And while the perceived front-runners were thought to be Army athletic director Boo Corrigan and Xavier AD Mike Bobinski, sources familiar with the process say that BC officials have gone outside of the box and could introduce a former BC football player, justice department official and FBI agent named Quentin Williams.

Just yesterday, Blaudschun also reported that Xavier Associate V.P. and Athletic Director Mike Bobinski was the frontrunner for the position. Reports linking Bobinski's name to Boston College's Athletic Director position were later shot down by the Cincinnati Enquirer's Shannon Russell earlier today.

The Boston College press conference is scheduled for 1:30 PM Eastern Tuesday.
