Akeel Lynch was wearing a Penn State jacket before he even knew what a Nittany Lion was. Now Lynch (Athol Springs, N.Y./Saint Francis) is set to play for Penn State.

A former Boston College commitment, Lynch pledged to Penn State while official visiting over the weekend.

two words for Lynch

Omar Easy. I see a lot of parallels btw Lynch and Easy. 2 great HS running back, each chose Penn St over BC. Could have been a big star at BC, but instead chose the bright lights and reputation of Happy Valley. Not sure if Easy ever started there; put up pedestrian numbers for 4 yrs and then parlayed his size into a brief special teams “career” in the NFL.

Don’t give up hope just yet. My buddy at work’s son goes to St Francis w/ Lynch and is a friend of his. I told my colleague to relate the Omar Easy story to his son for Lynch.

Obviously I’m kidding about it changing anything, but his son is going deliver the two-word message to Lynch – “Omar Easy.”
